Is Salmon Arm Citizens Patrol for you?

If you are keen to help the RCMP and the City of Salmon Arm, enjoy working as a team member, and look forward to some social occasions, then SACP might be a good match for you.

SACP needs people of all ages who have a variety of life experiences and talents to help us carry out a range of services.

Just a relatively small effort on the part of each of our members does make a noticeable difference to the betterment of all. Consider joining today!

Qualifications and Application Process

  • able to walk for about an hour at a time
  • pass the requisite RCMP criminal background check
  • hold a Valid Class 5 driver’s license if you wish to drive your own vehicle for patrols or other SACP activities
  • be at least 19 years old

Please note, the application process may take up to a month and sequentially involves:

  • you pick up an application at the RCMP Detachment located at 1980 – 11th Street NE
  • return the completed application and fill out a mandatory Criminal Record Check form (no fee for SACP applicants)
  • our RCMP liaison officer will process your Criminal Record Check and call you for an interview
  • the SACP President will contact your application references
  • three members of the Executive will meet with you to discuss your application and answer questions
  • the Vice-President will commence the process of creating your personalized ID photocard
  • you will receive your personal Yellow Binder training and procedures manual
  • you will receive an SACP yellow jersey, jacket, hat, and ID lanyard
  • you will begin your training regimen
  • you will be invited to the next general meeting held on the fourth Monday of each month except December
