Is SACP for you?

If you are keen on helping the RCMP and the City enhance the livability of Salmon Arm and Canoe, if you enjoy working as a team member, and if you look forward to some social occasions, then SACP might be a good "match" for you.

SACP needs people of all ages who have a variety of life experiences  and talents to help us carry out this range of  services.

It can be surprising how little effort on the part of each of our members can make a noticeable difference

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 19 years of age
  • Able to pass a RCMP security check for the vulnerable sectors (children & the elderly)
  •  Comfortable walking about an hour in malls, parks, and at the beach

THE APPLICATION PROCESS USUALLY TAKES LESS THAN A MONTH:

  • Print off an application form from this website or pick one up at the Salmon Arm RCMP Detachment (1980 - 11th Street NE)

  • Return the completed form to the Detachment and fill out an RCMP Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sectors) at no charge

  • Within two weeks, our RCMP Representative conducts the security check and then interviews applicants

  • If our RCMP member is satisfied with the application, he will pass it on to the SACP president so she can check the listed references.
  • If the SACP president is satisfied, she will arrange for three Board members to meet with the applicant for an informal interview at a local coffee shop.  Typically, the applicant will pick up training materials after that interview.
  • The successful applicant will be invited to the next general meeting (the fourth Thursday of each month except July and December)
